Bears' Cruz verifies Forte has sprained MCL in knee

Chicago Bears coach Lovie Cruz thinks hurt running back Matt Forte will return this year. But exactly just when was another question.

Cruz confirmed earlier reviews throughout his weekly Monday news conference that Forte experienced a sprained medial collateral ligament in the right knee throughout Sunday's 10-3 loss towards the Might Chiefs. But Cruz declined to place any timetable on Forte's return.

"So far as when, I'll just say we are still evaluating him," Cruz stated. "He looked very good today. ... There's concern."

Cruz had confirmed following Sunday's loss that Forte experienced a sprained knee when he left the overall game within the first quarter. Without Forte, the Bears continues to depend on Marion Barber and Kahlil Bell.

Cruz also stated that safety Major Wright experienced a sprained shoulder from the Chiefs, but did not know when he'd have the ability to return.
